As a child of God
I’ve journeyed through
The many storms of life.
I’ve stopped to weep over a loved one
And have cried out from the pain
Of a broken heart.

The tears that fell from my eyes
Flood my soul,
A soul that strived to reach out.
In those desperate moments
When I thought I couldn’t hold on,
Jesus said, “Be not afraid.
I am with you always.”

Journeying through these storms
I knew that Jesus was there.
At times the waves were high
And they smashed against my life.
These were the times that Jesus
Calmed the sea of fear that lived within me.
He said, “Be still!”
And my soul was given rest.
